Green Printing
Making smart choices with your printing means you don't need to compromise on the quality and finish of your print job AND you can reduce the impact of your job.
These days nearly all printers use vegetable or soy based inks. So having a printer use these isn't anything special. Often these are used in preference to the solvent based inks as they don't smell anywhere near as much, and don't cause as many headaches!
So you need to be smarter with your choices - and that's where we come in.
This can be by choosing Australian made carbon neutral paper, paper with partially recycled content or even 100% recycled post consumer paper. HOWEVER don't fall into the trap of thinking that 100% recycled paper is the best option. One of the most commonly used and heavily marketed 100% recycled paper is made in Germany from paper sourced in Italy, France and Singapore - post and pre consumer waste. So this so called environmentally friendly paper has clocked up huge kilometres before it's even made into the paper product. And THEN it's shipped to Australia for us to print on.
The information above has been quite difficult to find. Our researcher, Dr Angela Lush, has taken some time to collate a list of the greenest paper options we have here in Australia - and in particular, in S.A.
